What would you call Real Work?
Real Work is a team of people who are passionate about making customers happy. Real Work is not a bogus job. We love to share real stories with our customers and team. We are more interested in being a partner than a provider of services.
Every morning, upon my arrival, I have a cup of coffee. While I ask my colleagues how they are doing, I tell them my last night’s dream. Next, I check my emails, manage priorities, and organize my day. My job consists of managing projects, team work, and dealing with clients.
We begin a project by defining the strategic recommendation that will guide the project’s actions. Once the client approves our recommendation I plan, coordinate, and define every task and then select the technical and creative team that will work on it. As we sell daily rates, I ensure that every project is completed within the budget we have set. I manage the team and maintain relationships with our customers. Every project is unique, and no day is the same. That’s what I love about ActiveCollab.
ActiveCollab is the first tool that I use to organize my projects from the beginning. I create task lists, add tasks and subtasks, estimate the time, and assign each task to a team member. ActiveCollab is time-based invoicing which means that every employee in the agency must log their time in ActiveCollab. This is how we determine if the project is profitable. We have an internal tool that uses ActiveCollab data to check if everyone is doing well: the “Times Tracker” (a simple name, I know!). It displays all team members as well as the times they log. The green icons are for those who did it well and the red ones for others. Every Monday I check to see if everyone has recorded their time for the week. If not, I get mad! Active Collab is simple to use, and it helps our team to keep track of their work. This makes sure that everyone is doing well.
