It is possible to avoid situations where people drop the idea of doing PMP because it’s not for them.
There are many approaches that have been defined by experts who have passed the PMP exam. I am one of these. However, there are a few common threads in all of these approaches if you look closely.

The training program and study materials will be the backbone of your preparation. Both must be effective. Online feedback or references are a great help.
Always choose programs that assist you in your application and self preparation.

This is a step-by-step guide to help you succeed on your journey.
1. Visit www.pmi.org to do some research on PMP. Learn the basics of the subject. You must ensure that you are eligible for PMP. The PMP Eligibility Calculator can be found here. Connect with a few institutions that are worth your time to learn more. You can try out 2-3 quality institutes to find the one that suits you best. Verify that they are Authorized Training Partners with PMI. Several institutions that are not ATPs, but offer PMP Training programs with their own materials, may be less effective but not as effective as those authorized by PMI. Be aware of fraud and quality. Register with one of the authorized institutes for their training program. (Remember the suggestions above). Participate in the 35-hour training program.6 After completion, you can apply to PMI membership and take the PMI training course.7 8. After you feel confident in the subject, take one round of revision. To assess your level of readiness, take mock tests. Identify your weaknesses, find a solution, and fix them. This will improve your score on the PMP exam. Once you feel confident, and your exam scores support it, pay the exam fees and book the exam date. A night before the exam, get enough sleep. 13 Pass the final exam by the deadline and you will pass it.

* The PMP exam has 180 questions. There are two breaks of 10 minutes after each 60 question. Break time is not included in the exam time. Exam Questions include o Multiple Choice o Match o True & False o Fill out the blanks o Drag n drop* No negative marking. It is important to plan ahead so that you don’t leave any questions unanswered. This feature will be available throughout the exam. You can also tag time-consuming questions so they can be reviewed later. * Exam will test your knowledge, patience, analytical (problem solving), and analytical skills. These are all essential for a successful project manager. * Exam can be taken at home with some restrictions (not recommended), or at Pearson Vue centres in your area. You can find the nearest Pearson Vue center to you based on your zip code or postal code. * Results will be instant. The center will provide a result within 24 hours. PMP License Number and soft copy of Certificate will be available at your PMI Login within 24 hours. PMI will mail the physical certificate in a few weeks
