NEWS! NEWS!

The Project Management Institute (or PMI) is the first organization to come to mind when it comes to project management certifications. This is not surprising, as PMI’s project management credentials are among the most respected and well-known in the project management field. They are also among the highest-paid professional certifications. Agile methodology proficiency is essential for IT project management. This is why PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI ACP) is the fastest-growing credential for organizations.
Agile is a collection if similar methodologies. The PMI-ACP exam covers many of them. This certification covers Lean, Kanban and test-driven development (TDD), Scrum, and extreme programming (XP), making it very versatile and useful in almost all organizations.
PMI recently announced changes to its PMI-ACP exam. The pilot program for the new exam started on July 15, 2015 and will continue through October 15, 2015. You can now take the updated exam and save 20% by taking it. The most notable 2015 change is Domain 1: Agile Principles & Mindset. It will contribute 16% to your exam score. PMI says that this domain helps candidates “explore and embrace agile principles and mindsets within the context of project teams and organizations.” It covers nine practice areas.
To foster a shared mindset within the team, model agile principles and values
Assure a common understanding of agile principles and values, as well as a common knowledge of agile practices.
Support change through education, influencing behaviors, and people;
Practice visualization;
Contribute to a safe and trustful environment for your team members
Encourage creativity and experimentation with new ideas, methods, and techniques to increase creativity
Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration
Encourage leadership
Practice servant leadership.
The exam will cover this domain as well as the following: Value-Driven delivery, Stakeholder Engagement and Team Performance.
The pilot for the new exam started on July 15, 2015, and will continue through October 15, 2015. PMI offers a 20% discount for all PMI-ACP exam takers who register before August 16, 2015. This is a great deal as the normal exam fee is $435 USD per member and $495 per non-member. Regular exam fees apply after August 16. The pilot phase will end on October 15, 2015.
